I Love This Picture That My Sister Took

It's on my desk top.

And it will go into Kate's baby book for her 3rd birthday party photo.

Momtacy: Playing Card Games/Board Games

Back in October I started to teach Kate how to play "Old Maid." It lasted less than a minute and then she just wanted to turn the cards into stepping stones.

As we've continued to try and play card games, here are a few observations.

- It's refreshing to play a game with someone who has no idea about the concepts of winning or losing.

- Actually, one time, I lost the game and was stuck with the Old Maid and Kate cried because she wanted the Old Maid.

- Our sweet neighbor bought Kate a 4-pack of Disney themed card games: Old Maid, Go Fish, Crazy Eights and Memory.

- Kate can play one full game of cards now; although she can't hold them and has to lay the cards out in front of her.

- I bought Kate "Candy Land" for her birthday. We enjoy playing it with her.

- Let me tell you something, you really haven't played "Go Fish" until you can ask, "Do you have any Snow Whites?"

That's It!

Our silverware drawer used to only contain silverware. Now it also has sippy cup lids, kiddie ware, medicine cups, and straws. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Other things around the house got cleaned out.

Inspired by the nearing of 2009 and the opportunity to donate some things to Goodwill for our taxes, I went on a purging spree. I also had one too many, "That's It! This isn't working for me. This needs to get organized" moments.

I cleaned out the linen closet, master closet, hall closet, Lauren's closet and the medicine cabinet.

We ended up taking more than 7 bags to Goodwill.

ahhhhhhh...Big sigh of happiness.

Mommy, I Want Something To Eat

I would like to publicly thank my parents for putting up with my growth spurts.

I can remember my mom saying, "She must be going through a growth spurt. She constantly wants to eat."

Kate has been on a growth spurt lately.

She's always asking in a soft, whiny-like voice, "I want something to eat."

She's also used the term, "I'm starving."

She enjoys going to the fridge to get her own cheddar cheese sticks and apples. I think she may eat 3 apples a day.
